14K vs. 18K

Both 14K and 18K gold are top quality alloys. 18K gold has a higher gold content than 14K - approximately 15% more - and therefore is considered a bit more luxurious. 18K gold is slightly softer than 14K so it's not recommended if you are active and will be hard on your ring. Some people prefer 18K gold for its richer, gold color although it's extremely difficult to notice a color variance.
